Fun in Sun

I joined a swap not that long ago that Joanne Basile had where we used MFT stamps. They were some beautiful cards. This is the one I made.

Stamps: MFT - By the Seashore; Paper: SU - More Mustard, Bo Bunny Press - Sand Dunes, American Standard Designs - Sun & Sand Brights, Other CS - Bazzil; Ink: Pallette Noir Black; Tools: Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls, Primas, OMS; Embellishments: Jewel Glitter Gold, Crystal Sticker Pearls,
Glossy Accents

Ok, so someone wanted to know how I had a added the Stanley to my wrench card. I used Making Memories Stamping Die Set. For those that don't have any idea of what I am talking about still I have found a picture for you. I use this alot when I work with metal.

For My Dad

My parent's 41st anniversary was at the beginning of the month and this was the card I made for my dad. I was so proud with the way that it came out. I have to admit that I got the idea from someone else I don't know that they would necessarily appreciate it because they made it for a dress and when I saw it I kinda saw the wrench immediately.

It was Sharon Johnson's cocktail dress. I printed her templated and instead of just doing the neckline on just one side I did it on both sides. I then covered the cardstock over with the metal. I drew in the lines to give it character in distress it. I used the MM die stamp to put Stanley on the front with Prussian Blue Copic to color it in. The inside held a Gift Card for Harbor Freight and a Subscription to Consumer Reports to I made the inside to look like what Julie Buhler did on her blog.

I've been tagged

Boy have I been tagged! By three different people hopefully that doesn't mean I have to answer 21 questions. Here are the rules:

• Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.

• Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself on your blog, we all want to know them.

• Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.

• Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

My taggers were Becky, Catherine, & Tina.

So, my random facts are:

  1. I love to travel and I've been all over the place. I've been to the Dominican Republic (where I lived for 3 months), Canada (Niagara Falls & Toronto), Scotland, London, Russia, & the Ukraine. And I'm planning to go someplace somewhere real soon. These are just the places I've been out of the country.
  2. I've never been married but that doesn't I don't want to get married.
  3. I a huge Jane Austen fan. I've read all her books and seen all the movies put out based on her books that I can find. I would love to go to England to spend like a month there just absorbing the atmosphere. I really like most things British.
  4. I have always dreamed of going to Italy. I would love to go there.
  5. Although I am very good with children and love being around them, I don't want to have any.
  6. I have also wanted to live in New York City where my mother is from.
  7. I have a very real fear snakes although it is unfounded.

Now the hard part, who to tag.

My seester, Colleen, Keri, Amanda, Tracy, Samantha, & Elaine

WOW!

I feel so special. I have to be honest. You know there's things you do for people but you never expect things in return. Well, this is how I felt when I did the banner for Lauren. Like I said in my post before about my love for Photoshop, I love having an excuse to play with things like that when I have the time to play. Which I really had the time when I did Lauren's.

What I never expected was to get a card from her. She was so sweet! I really hope we are able to keep in touch now.

A Froggy Hello

One of my best friends Tonya is having a baby in the next week. She's having a little boy and we're so excited for her because she's wanted a baby for such a long time. Although she wanted a girl she safely adjusted to the fact that she's having a boy, LOL. We had a baby shower for her a couple of weeks ago for her and this is the stuff that I made for her. I may have gone a little overboard but I couldn't help it, I'm a little excited for her. At the time I started I didn't know she was going to do his room in cars and trucks. I did them in frogs and bugs & other creepy crawly things, ya know stuff lil boys like.

She's so artistic. I can't wait to see what she's going to do with his room. Anyway before I ramble on anymore here's what I made.
Paper: Basic Grey - Giggle from Color Me Silly, Green Bazzill; Ink: True Thyme 07 In Color; Extras: B - Provo Craft, Frog - Cuttlebug 2x2 garden creatures, white & green flowers - Primas?

1.5 x 1.5 square blocks from HL, white acrylic paint, Giggle & Grow from Color Me Silly by Basic Grey, American Crafts - Ned rubons
I made this & the next one just using a Gerber onesie and the SU Bugs & Kisses set. I used the Palette Hybrid Ink like Nicole H suggested on her blog and it was SOOOOO easy.

Sympathy Card & Rocks

Becky, one of the girls I got to know through the SAME Conference, really liked one of the necklaces she saw me wearing that she liked that she called "rocks". As we got to know each other I got to know of a situation that she went through so I made her this card to go with her rocks. I've been making jewelry since I was making 3rd grade, I just don't do it very often.

Sorry I don't remember everything I used to make this card. I know I used a challenge that Colleen S. as inspiration. And Both End Blossoms as the stamp. I, of course, used my CB to do the textured background on all four areas to do continuity. The ribbon was Basic Grey.

This is just in case you wanted to see closer detail of the necklace. The stones are all amethyst in varying sizes with silver colored spacer beads.

I'm so excited

and I just can't hide it and I know, I know, I know!! Ok, enough I know, but I can't help it, I really am excited. Can you guess why, I bet you can!!!! That's right...I'm on the Internet. YEAH!!!!! Now as to where to start to catch you guys up. AHHHH! My brain is overflowing. Ok, just give me a few minutes to collect myself and I'll be right back.

My apologies

I just want to let anyone out there that still reads my blog know how sorry I am. I used to be able to post from work which as you know I did on a pretty regular basis...then I got blocked. Well, I don't have Internet from home so the only way that I could get to blogspot was from my parents house even to approve comments.

Yet, happy days are just around the corner. AT&T is supposed to hooking up my DSL this next week and let me tell you I have a lot to catch you up on. So I have forewarned you. Insert evil laugh. Til then my lovelies.
