TGI FRIDAY!!!!

I have to tell I look forward to Friday every week because it means it's the weekend. But then I swear before I turn around it's Monday again. It never ends, does it?

What makes Fridays even more fun for me now is the Friday Fun Challenge. This week the beautiful and talented Kathi challenged us use at three different patterned papers on our project. I have a confession to make: this isn't a challenge for me. It would have been more of a challenge for me not to. I made it and a few others to go along with Taylor's Year of Cupcakes Challenge that she had going on (yes, I've been a busy girl).
Stamps: Stampingbella - Cupcakeabella, Yummalicious; Ink: Palette Charcoal, Versafine Black; Paper: Basic Grey - Euphoria, GA Pacific White; Other: Copics, Shimmerz Silver Bells, Doodlebug Token, DMC Floss, clear eP, fake baubles
If you decide to play with us in the challenge, come on you know you want to and upload it to Splitcoast Stampers use the keyword FFC20 so we can leave comments for ya!

I {heart}

cupcakes. At least today that's what I'm hearting. Lisa aka Yoda is challenging us for the Unity Addicts' Challenge to make a card all about love and use the colors red, yellow, pink & blue. I'm hoping she'll excuse there's a little green in there because it's in the paper and I didn't add it in myself...hehe.

New Design Team

Well if you can't be a part of one, make your own...lol. Not exactly how the phrase goes but I turned it how I needed.

I've mentioned before how I run the group over at Paper Craft Planet for the Rubber Romance group. I decided that we need to make our group a little more lively and in order to do that we should maybe have weekly challenges. In order to get this going I decided we should probably have a design team. I have some wonderful women on it which is kinda ironic on who it has turned out to be because I asked them before they asked me for the Friday Challenge.
Kim Muhl and Jimmi Mayo are the first two I'm going to introduce, I'm saving the other wonderful lady for next week at her request.

This week's first challenge is to use something recycled in your card. If you decide to play with us which we would love please upload it to Paper Craft Planet with the tag of RRC1.
Here's what I made...
Stamps: Rubber Romance - Diva Chef, Inque Botique Cupcake; Paper: DP Magonlia, Misc DP, Very Vanilla, GA Pacific; Other: Threading Water, American Crafts Ribbon, Hero Arts Jewel, Copics, Poly Shrink, Brads, Clothing Tag, Zig Pen

Copic Heads Up

I almost forgot, DOH!! Michelle over at Crafting and Living in CopicsJapan is having a fantastic Blog Candy giveaway.

She's giving away TWO Kodomo stamps and FIVE Copic markers of your color choice!

Isn't that cool?!?! So go check it out.

A few things and something really exciting

fabby_blog KreativBlogger

I was given these by Jacquie & Catherine who are two of the sweetest, so I want to say thank you to them.

So what do I have to do, well you pretty much know.  It's the same thing every time.  I'm going to award it to all of my Unity Addict Challenge Chicks because to me they are both fabulous & creative.

GIUWinnerFor the winner of the Growing in Unity Blog candy just happens to be the sweet Jacquie that I was referring to.  She just needs to pick which of the singles she wants.  That's the hard part if you ask me.

Now, for the "something really exciting".  Marianne is going to be teaching a Copic Certification class in Pensacola on February 23rd.  I put in my application.  I just found out today that it was accepted!!  I am so excited!!  I can't wait now because it's only a month away....YEAH!!!!!

Growing in Unity - Day 5

USCgrow This is my final day and I have had so much fun this week. I hope you have too. Thank you all for leaving such nice comments, I've really appreciated all of them. They've been so sweet. Next week, Dawn aka dmk104 will be hosting so make sure you go check out what she has to showcase. *I'm going to draw the winner for the single later today and post it...please be patient with me. Sorry!!

WARNING: THIS IS A REALLY LONG POST!!

My first project today is...

PeacockClip

Stamps: Jan KOM (peacock), Oct KOM (ribbon), Dec KOM (swirl); Paper: GA Pacific White, SU Cool Caribbean, Tempting Turquoise; Ink: Palette Noir, Versamark; Other: Copics, Nesties, Gold & clear eP, Ribbon, Gold Poster Paint

AmazingHeart

Stamps: Argyle Heart (I'll show what I used to look like this in a second*), Simply Said; Ink: Paris Lights, Noir; Paper: GA Pacific White, Paper Studio - Silver Wedding Stripes, Bo Bunny Press - Midnight Paisley; Other: Nesties, Shimmerz Silver Bells

ArgyleHeart *I got this stuff that called Magic Stamp. It's moldable and remoldable foam. You heat it up make an impression of your stamp in the foam and then when it cools off you have a new stamp. You can heat it up again and then use it again. Isn't that cool?

FFCFriend This one is for the the girl's Friday Fun Challenge. This week Sherry challenged us to make a Friend card, Non-Romantic.

Now make sure go check out all the other girls' creations.
Sherry
Jimmi
Kim
Kathy

Ok, now it's time for the tutorial that I promised yesterday.

Delight Ok this is the stuff I used to make the frame. As you can see it's called Delight Air Dry Modeling Compound. Also as you can see it's about $5 a package.
Versamark The next thing I do is prep my stamp with Versamark. Now I don't know if this is really necessary but I saw where someone did this for another technique and thought it was a good idea.
PressingClay I then work the clay together until a get a good feel and then flatten it out. Next I press the stamp into the air clay.
SidebySide Before I take the stamp away I do take as much of the extra air clay away as I can. Here's a side by side comparison of the stamp and the impression. Pretty cool, huh? As you can see there's still some extra residue.
Trimming So while it is still "wet" I will use a craft knife to cut away as much of the reside or extra air clay as possible to give it as clean a look as possible.
Finished

This is the finished "wet" product. It takes several hours for it to dry and then you can pretty much do whatever you want.

Growing in Unity - Day 4

It's Day 4 but it's not only that it's Thursday. Ok come on by now you have to know what that means. It's HIP HOP TIME!!! Come and chat with us in the forum over at Splitcoast Stampers. And don't forget sometime today I will be giving away the single of your choice from the ones I mentioned yesterday.

Now Angela and Christian and most of the crew have headed to CHA so it's going to really be up to us to keep Hip Hop HOPPING!! Plus they have a lot of things that they are already previewing before it is released, it is enough to make you drool. Check out the coming soon section. Ok, I will stop with the free advertisement now and show you what I created for today.

Supplies: Lindor Chocolate box, Unity Stamp Co - Bubble Gum Tree & Giggle Groove, Palette Noir Ink, Basic Grey Urban Prarie DP, chipboard Coaster, Foof a La Buttons, Stickles
One more thing, as a heads up for tomorrow I'm going to try to do up a tutorial for those that asked for the frame. Unfortunately I don't have a video camera that I believe that will work with my computer so we'll have to work with stills.

Growing in Unity - Day 3

I have a super long post so let me start off by saying happy hump day. Well today is also is Unity Addicts Challenge and Maria challenged us to make bookmarks with a theme. The funny thing was I had already started doing one for this week I'm just going to show it to you a day early.

I got the idea for this bookmark from Kim at Paperie Petals.
Stamps: Unity Stamp Co - Nov KOM (Home Story & Frame), Aug KOM (Butterfly), Oct KOM (Good Times), Dec KOM (Bliss), Mix Up of Cuteness, Worn Grid; Ink: Palette Noir, Rouge, Charcoal; Paper: Basic Grey - Scarlet's Letter Walks in Beauty, Misc Red; Other; Threading Water Punch, Round Punch, Copics, Gold eP, Martha Stewart Crosshatch Silver Sage
I would like to share a tip with as to what I do when I go to start a card/project with my Unity stamps. Since I keep all of them together, when I get my new ones in with the "index sheet" I punch a hole in the top left corner and add it to my binder ring. It helps me to keep up with what I have and scan through real quick to plan out what I want to use.

Ok one more thing and I promise that's it for the day 3. This week's Featured Stamper is Lori Craig. Now I don't know her personally but I have chatted with her several times through email and she is one of the sweetest people. So when I saw that she was the featured stamper I had to do this challenge.
Stamps: Jan KOM, Aug KOM (Butterfly); Ink: Palette Noir; Paper: PTI Aqua Mist, MM 5th Avenue, GA Pacific; Other: Pearl & Rhinestone Stickers, Copics, Nesties, Primas, Karen Foster Ribbon
Ok, I lied, I do have one more thing to mention. I have figured out the stamps for you to pick out from if you are picked from my commentors this week.
Live the Life You Love
My! What a Beautiful Tree

Rows of Yummies

Growing in Unity - Day 2

On to Day 2...I've been so excited about this. I've been planning for it and thinking about what to make so I can make sure that you guys would want to hang around for a week. I know I'm a dork, I can't help it.

This one I made for my nephew and was initially inspired by the wonderful Sharon Harnist. One small tangent, Liam has been learning how to play Tic-Tac-Toe plus he has been talking non-stop about Aliens and Monsters ever since he saw the first movie trailer. So this is what inspired my project.
Supplies: Gina K - Stamp Tin, Stickles, Archaic by Basic Grey for DP & Stickers, Unity Stamp Co - Cuter Than Most, UTEE, Copics, Grosgrain Ribbon, Magnet (round and strips), template from Mel Stampz, Just Rite Stamps
The funny thing is he loves it, well he seemed to love the magnets at least!

Growing in Unity - Day 1

So begins my week of Growing in Unity. I'm so excited mainly because I love Unity Stamps so much. When Ramsey proposed this idea for people to post an entire week of Unity Stamp Co stuff, I jumped on it because I was already pretty much doing it already.

The exciting part for you other than to see all my creations that I've made for you guys, is that I will draw from the commenters over the weeks to win a single on Thursday.

First up this week is the frame I made for my parents' anniversary that goes with the card that I showed you guys earlier.
Supplies: Michael's $1 Frame, Delight Air Dry Modeling Compound, Unity Stamp Co - Two People in Love, Gold Paint (it's the special stuff that I got from a stamp show from Patricia DiBona) , and the Awesome Directions from Holly

Friday Fun Challenge

The most awesomely group consisting Jimmi, Sherry, Katherine, and Kim have asked me to join their group of the Friday Fun Challenge cards. I'm so excited and I won't lie and say I'm not honored. I'm a little late but I didn't get the sketch until last night and my heat was out (that's right it was 32*F with no heat). Let's just say I slept in layers & with an electric blanket cuddled up to my sweet little doggie. I did do the challenge when I got home tonight, so here we go.

This week Jimmi was the hostess and she came up with a great sketch. You know what they say the more the merrier so if you would like to play with us, use the keyword FFC18 when uploading to SplitCoast Stampers.

It's That Time Again!!

It's Wednesday and that means it's Unity Addicts' Challenge. Can you believe it's been 19 weeks? 19 weeks!! since all of this crazy stuff started. I can't. I have so much fun playing every week and seeing what everyone is going to do.

This week it was my turn to come up with the challenge. I decided to challenge everyone to not only do the card front but also do the inside. It seems to be a growing trend so I thought it would be fun and different to try. Here's what I did.
Stamps: Unity Stamp Co - August KOM; Ink: Palette Charcoal; Paper: Bazzill CS, All DP by Making Memories Sabrina line; Other: Copics, Spica, Glaze pen, primas, Threading Water Punch
Stamps: Unity Stamp Co - Simply Said & Two People in Love; Ink: Versafine Black, Palette Paris Lights; Paper: Bazzill CS, All DP by Making Memories Sabrina line; Other: Clear eP, Threading Water Punch
To see what everyone else did this week you can either go to the forum or straight to the gallery.
