For the Very First Time

Ok, before I get behind the title of this post I thought I would share a pic Bandit & I took tonight. She had just come in for the evening. And I've been sick all day...AGAIN!! But I think it turned out really cute.
Not only did I do the CC Challenge for this week but I broke out the Copics to color it. I don't know that I'm totally sold but I guess it make take some getting used to. I must admit the tutorials that from BCSherrie helped A LOT. You can see them here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T80G-AgW-nk & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bd1yWPDMsY&NR=1.

Stamps: eat cake graphics - Granny Gertz & Times a lousy beautician; cardstock: SU certainly celery, pumpkin pie, white; ink: lavendar lace (I didn't have orchid opulence), palette noir; other: ribbon, glitter, cb bloom dots, purple baubles

This card was so easy to make I got the idea from Leslie Miller aka Running with Scissors.

In case you didn't see Nichole Heady's original post of this, you should obviously go look at her because it is much better than mine. However, this is my version.

Ch-Ch-Changes

Being that I've been sick in bed all day. I figured I would do something that didn't involve much movement. So I decided to redesign my blog a little. I gave myself a new look in a color that I like a lot. Let me know what you think.

Help!

I need somebody. Help! Ok, that's my best impression of the Beetles. I have this other project that I was working on making a name frame of sorts for a friend of mine. But when it's all said and done and seems like something is missing.

So any ideas that you can offer me would be greatly appreciated. As you can see the theme is obviously cars & trucks. I made the letters of his name to simulate a stop light on a road.

Stupid Power

I live out in the boonies in case I've never told you that before. Granted it only takes me 10 minutes to get town. Everyone treats it like you live out in the middle of nowhere. Well, last night we were just finishing up dinner when the power goes out. Is it storming...no! Is it whipping up with wind...no!! It is so quiet and nothing is going on but that is the price you pay for being on an EMC for power. I loved being on Georgia Power.

Anyway, for the now promised project that I told you I would post last night.

I used an expanding file folder for this. I drilled holes in the top so I could make it into more of a purse. I used grommets that I colored with copics to match the grosgrain ribbon that I used to run along the edges. I used Crate Paper (Avenue Collection - Glam) to cover the front. Because I was making this for a friend of mine I put her initials on the bottom left with Making Memories and Target Rubons. The "purse strap" is a belt I got on clearance for $2.

My Nose

Has been exploding and no...{in best Arnold S voice} it not a tuuumoa. I have had such pressure in my head for the last month in the head I've almost been praying for my head to explode. Well, the doctor has had me on 2 rounds of antibiotics and steroids before he finally sent me to the ENT.

When I went to the ENT. Let's just say he ran me through the gamut. I had a CT scan of my sinuses. Then he did a scope up my nose. The funny thing is when I asked his assistant when she brought it in if he was going to be doing a labodomy, she told me on no this goes up your nose. I looked at her like she had just lost her mind and told her sweetie that's how they did them. Anyway, so my doc shows me the CT scan of my nose and I have a deviated septum and polyps...sounds like fun, right??

Well, because there's too much swelling and irritation he puts me on more steroids and allegra and tells me to come back to decide if "we" want to do surgery.

I went back Thursday and guess what....he does. So I will be having surgery April 1st and unfortunately this is no April Fool's joke.

Another Part of My Craft

This past weekend I went to my sister's to spend some time with her. I haven't got to do that in a while. Trying to explain that to a 4 year old is really hard though. We did get to sit around and watch period piece movies (which we love - that or indie movies that nobody but us would watch) and made jewelry.

See my sister was recently opened an Etsy shop. So I figured that I would help her out by contributing some of my jewelry so she could have some diversity. She's trying really hard to get it up and running so feel free to drop in and check it out at artistryinfocus.etsy.com.

Don't feel obligated to buy my creations...lol but the ones I made are Mother of Pearl Pendant Necklace & Garnet Drop Earrings & Blue Swarovski Crystal & Pearl Earrings & Blue Swarovski Bow Hung on a Pearl Necklace.

I'm trying to get back in the swing of things with my crafts. Being that I'm single & work full time and can't seem to convince anyone to do my housework for me so I'm having a hard time fitting everything in lately.
