My Nose

Has been exploding and no...{in best Arnold S voice} it not a tuuumoa. I have had such pressure in my head for the last month in the head I've almost been praying for my head to explode. Well, the doctor has had me on 2 rounds of antibiotics and steroids before he finally sent me to the ENT.

When I went to the ENT. Let's just say he ran me through the gamut. I had a CT scan of my sinuses. Then he did a scope up my nose. The funny thing is when I asked his assistant when she brought it in if he was going to be doing a labodomy, she told me on no this goes up your nose. I looked at her like she had just lost her mind and told her sweetie that's how they did them. Anyway, so my doc shows me the CT scan of my nose and I have a deviated septum and polyps...sounds like fun, right??

Well, because there's too much swelling and irritation he puts me on more steroids and allegra and tells me to come back to decide if "we" want to do surgery.

I went back Thursday and guess what....he does. So I will be having surgery April 1st and unfortunately this is no April Fool's joke.

Oh no! That doesn't sound good! I'm sorry that you've been feeling yucky, but it's good that they found the source of your pain. I'm sure you'll feel better after the surgery!

Big Hugs,
Becky

Hi Sara,
I lived on antibiotics and steroids for years before I finally went to see an ENT because of the constant sinus infections. After the same round of tests you had with the same results... deviated septum and polyps, I was given the option of having the surgery or not. I waited almost another year before I got over my fear (I'm kind of phobic about hospitals and needles) and had the surgery and will happily report it was well worth the minor discomfort I had for a few days. I still get the occasional cold but NOTHING like what was happening. It has been three years now since the surgery and I still wonder what made me wait so long!

Good luck!!

Ugh, Hope you get this cleared up soon! Can't be fun. It would really make me cranky. I'm thinking of you.

I to had this issue. I spent a year suffering...it got so bad I would pass out when I stood up. Had the surgery...(yuck - but doable) and I felt AMAZING!!! Now...I did have to have it redone 10 years later...but it isn't so bad...and the effects are totally worth it. Do It!!!

Oh You poor Darling,

That is just plain awful. I hope it goes very well. It must interfere with your sleep too (my cousin and aunt have deviated septums and sleep apnea. No fun! Hope you start to feel better before April 1st! :0) Mel
