Paper, Glorious Paper

When you are on a diet where would be the worst place for you to go?  Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, right?

So when I’m on a paper buying freeze because I have entirely too much paper where would be the last place I would need to go?  CHA!!!  It’s like heaven for paper addicts.  Paper, lots of glorious paper.  More than a normal person can process.  For those that don’t know about my addiction you can refer back to this post.

There was so much to choose from: My Mind’s Eye, Basic Grey, October Afternoon, Bella Blvd, Jillibean Soup, Kiki Art, … I could probably go on forever.

One of my favorite lines & I have to admit one of my favorite booths was My Mind’s Eye.  The people there were super nice (Amber, AC, Cam & Jason).  I mean how can you not have fun when they have a fun zone cabana with one of the sweetest girls and all the hot guys?

MME MMEAmber

Do you see the paper in the background, isn’t it gorgeous?  Wanna see more?

MMEPaper

Some of it’s even flocked, it’s just so beautiful.

Of course I loved the Basic Grey lines!!  Who couldn’t love them.  I don’t know what happened to all the pictures of took of them but I do have one of them. But I can direct you to more.

BG The Make & Take we did was with the Kioshi line.  It was so pretty!!!  Did you want to see more?  You can go see what Jimmi put on her blog.

Another brand new line is the Girls’ Paperie by Margie Romney.  It makes a girl’s heart go flutter.

Coming to You Live

From California at least.  Today was the last day of CHA Trade Show.  This week was a total and complete blast.  Granted a little exhausting ok, you twisted my arm A LOT exhausting.  I will try to break down what I saw and who I saw and some of the new goodies.  One of those was today when I was walking around with Kelly Alvarez, aka Lawn Fawn Cards.  She’s one of the sweetest.

ScrapPerfect

We were able to learn about this new company called ScraPerfect.  They have 4 new really great products and it’s was all developed by a stay at home mom, how cool is that?  Gotta love us smart chicas.

One of them, is called the Embellie Gellie.  This is perfect for picking up your small embellishments.  For me when I saw this I immediately thought of Mini Rhinestones by Zva.  It has an automatic release.  I can’t wait to get home & try this bad boy.

Second, the Perfect Printing Pouch.  I wish I could remember all the ways they told us we could use this product but I’ll try to outline some of them for you.

  • Preps vellum for your markers so they won’t smear (wonder how this will make them work with Copics)
  • Doesn’t leave white powder on your project like an Embossing Buddy.
  • It preps all kinds of surfaces to make it easier like wood, clay, etc.
  • Deactivates adhesive if you have any showing extra on your project.
  • Plus they have two different styles you can get them in depending on what you prefer.  One with a strap and the other is just handheld.

Then, the Perfect Cleaning Cloth.  It’s good for cleaning up fingerprints and powders off of your projects.  You can even use on your glass.  Here’s the kicker…wait for it…it’s washable.   NICE!!!, right?  Where other products might have left residue on your black cardstock, one swipe of the PCC and you would never have known.

Last & certainly not least, the Embellie Glue.  Right now it is in just prototype stage however what they showed us was really nice.  It’s super tacky & dries clear, it is a liquid.  You can use it even on ribbon but the good thing with this one as opposed to other liquid adhesives out there with ribbon it won’t soak through.  You can even use it to glue onto fabric and after setting for 48 hours it can be thrown into a dryer & come out great.

CHA or BUST!!!

I made it!! I did!! Through the rain. Through the turbulence. Through the plane delays. WHEW!!! I met up with Kim Howard (fellow Georgian) at the airport and we both rode over to Anaheim. Now, I'm getting ready to start heading to the convention. I'm so excited. If you would like to come visit me I'll be in Booth #766 Friday and Saturday. It's the Flower Soft booth.

Royal Tueday OOPS

Well my dearies I gotta tell ya between working through the weekend and 12-hour days, plus getting ready to go to CHA I really haven't had a chance to make anything for the blog hop today. Mea culpa. Hope you will forgive me.

I do hope you really did get to enjoy what Meredith made though, if you didn't get a chance to see what from the beginning of the hop you may want to start at the QKD blog.

If you have then you are ready for your next stop which is Anita.

Have a wonderful Tuesday and I hope to check back in later.

What Did You Decide?

On Thursday I showed you this. What did you decide that you saw? What would you have made?
I got an idea in my head and I tried it several different ways.
I tried it on a printer but I never got it to print right on the label. This turned out the best. I was thinking of using them as my business cards at CHA. So what do you think? I wanted to stand out a little.

Thank You, Gracias, Merci

However you say it the meaning is just the same.  Today is Friday Fun Challenge once again.  I gotta tell you I so love doing these and love having an excuse to talk to my girls.  Originally the challenge was to make a thank you card for someone you wouldn’t normally thank.  After talking about we couldn’t think of anything.  Although now as I’m sitting here writing this I could have made one as a thank you to all my girls for just being my Sassy Girls.  I also thought about making one to the deer for messing up my car… this one would have been more sarcastic.

However we decided to just change the challenge to one where you make the outside & inside of the card.  Which fits in perfectly with the Moxie Fab Challenge that is up now, just in case anyone wants to play along with us.

ThankYouOut

Password Protector

One more thing from the Anniversary “event”.  My mom has been saying lately how she can’t keep up with notes or passwords that she’s written on post it notes or scraps around the computer.  That got me to thinking, what could I do to help her with that?  Make her a book of course.  My job has a bind it all that I was allowed to borrow. I’ve never used it before.  I did some YouTube surfing to get some tips and away I went.

PPBookOn the inside I made up a spreadsheet that I hope works out for her.

Table Setting Part II

The next one I made was fun and different.  I got the idea for it from my sassy girl, Kimme.  She had gotten this tutorial Ten Seconds Studios Taco Tuesday video.  I of course had to go check it out.  When I did I saw how it should be, so I broke out my cuttlebug & got to work.  This is what came out.

CandleSetOk, it did take a little more than cranking the Cuttlebug but not much more.  I took some tin sheets that I’ve had for like forever & used Embossing folder from Cuttlebug & Stamping Up.  Then used tacks from Walmart.  That’s about it.

Supplies: Black Metal Sheets, Copic, Tacks, Embossing Folder Leafy Branch, Distressed Stripes, SU Manhattan Flower, Sanding Block

Table Setting Part I

My parents’ anniversary is a big tradition in our family.  Every year we all get together.  It’s nice to sit around have dinner and celebrate the love that made us family.  I have to tell you that although we are not a big family, we are an extremely close family.  I would consider my mom & sister two of my best friends.

As we sat around and reminisced last night different stories came up.  One of them was when my sis & I were kids.  We wanted to cook supper for them & were only allowed to make hot dogs however we named our restaurant “Chantilly Lace”.  HOW FUNNY!!

Needless to say we do things a little better now.  This year, I thought I might do something a little different.  I thought I would decorate up the table.

Birdies

BirdieClose

I got the idea for this from the queen of decorating herself, Martha Stewart.  I edited it a little but they were so easy to make and cheap.  If you want to check it out you still find it on her website.

Supplies: Toilet Paper Rolls, Burnt Umber Acrylic Paint, WM Glitter, PTI & WM Twine, Dollar Tree Birds (came 2 in a package), WM Birds (also 2 per package), Hot Glue (I used a glue glue that I’ve had that’s almost 20 years old…gawd I’m old!!), Paper Piercer, Floral

IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!! And I am all a buzz

Is it time for a nap yet? Today's Friday Fun Challenge is to make a Travel Themed Anniversary card. Huh?.. you may ask. If you were tuned in yesterday you saw where it was my parents' 43rd Anniversary. According to, well I'm not sure who but each year of a wedding anniversary it corresponds to a gift. For example the 1st year is paper, 2nd year cotton and so on. Well they did't really have one in the past for 43 but I found one that did and apparently it's travel.

I gotta tell you every so often I sit back from my cards and I say WOW!! I can't believe I just made that. This was that card for me. All the elements came together just right.

Stamps: Unity Stamp Co. - Love is in the Air, Digi Bingo Card
Paper: PTI Stone Soft & Kraft, WM Paper Pack - Post Card
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Distress Ink Weathered Wood
Extras: Prismas & OMS, Prima Pearls, Smooch Red, Nestabilities, Liquid Applique
Please go see what my other girls came up with for today's challenge.

On a side note, I was up late last night watching a most exciting game. I'm very proud to say that Crimson Tide brought it home last night. They are the National Champions. Let me just tell you I was just hollering away from my craft room. I can just imagine how funny I must have looked. LOL.

Late & Far Behind

I'm such a slacker and so behind on everything. I'm behind on my Friday Fun Challenge but I'll be back with it later. I've been a busy girl designing a website. I'll leave you with a pic of what my nephew & I did with a gingerbread house.
