Creating a Memory FFC & FWF

I actually love when we have challenges like this.  Because then you sit there and have to pick a memory at random that hits you and inspires you to create and you never know what it will be.  When you look my card you will probably be thinking…WHA?

As most of you that have ever met me or talked to me will know I am a southern girl.  Nope I can’t hid from it.  Born and raised.  But a little known fact is my mom was a Brooklyn “Jew”  (feel like I should put in here that she’s still very much alive & kicking but she’s says she’s lived here more than there now).  That’s right I had a Bubbie and Zadie.  Because of my mother’s northern roots and my father (yep, he’s a Mississippi boy) living there for nine years, I’ve visited New York many a time.  I {heart} it big time.  I seriously wanted to live there.  No SERIOUSLY!!  Would still move there if given the opportunity.  I used to go visit quite frequently.  However, now it’s been quite a few years since I’ve been.  Doesn’t mean I don’t still love it and have many good memories there.  Hence the inspiration behind today’s card.

Live Be

I used Unity’s City of Love which I stamped on a Jenni Bowlin Bingo card with Versafine Tuxedo Black ink & poured some metallic eP over.  Then I used some of my new favorite markers by Faber-Castell (I got mine at Ellen Hutson’s store).  I love them because while they’re still wet you can smudge them to give that shadow effect but once they are dry they are color fast & waterproof.  Neat, huh?  Seriously IN LOVE!!  Then I just mounted on some mustardy Bazzill paper.

On a 4x 5.5” base I put a 1” inch edge with the Be Mine masked off to use just the Be, then add 3 Bazzill rhinestones.  Then add 2.5” x 4” piece of Salt Air by Cosmo Cricket on bottom edge.  Once this is all added I added by Bingo piece tied it off with some Crushed Shells Glimmer Mist colored Seam Binding with some more rhinestones added in the corner.

So are we ready to find some more memories?  Me too…

Wow, this is a REALLY cool card! So unique and I love the story behind it! New York is awesome, I am less than 2 hrs. from the city, but don't get there as often as I'd like. Thanks for sharing!
