Growing in Unity - Day 5

USCgrow This is my final day and I have had so much fun this week. I hope you have too. Thank you all for leaving such nice comments, I've really appreciated all of them. They've been so sweet. Next week, Dawn aka dmk104 will be hosting so make sure you go check out what she has to showcase. *I'm going to draw the winner for the single later today and post it...please be patient with me. Sorry!!

WARNING: THIS IS A REALLY LONG POST!!

My first project today is...

PeacockClip

Stamps: Jan KOM (peacock), Oct KOM (ribbon), Dec KOM (swirl); Paper: GA Pacific White, SU Cool Caribbean, Tempting Turquoise; Ink: Palette Noir, Versamark; Other: Copics, Nesties, Gold & clear eP, Ribbon, Gold Poster Paint

AmazingHeart

Stamps: Argyle Heart (I'll show what I used to look like this in a second*), Simply Said; Ink: Paris Lights, Noir; Paper: GA Pacific White, Paper Studio - Silver Wedding Stripes, Bo Bunny Press - Midnight Paisley; Other: Nesties, Shimmerz Silver Bells

ArgyleHeart *I got this stuff that called Magic Stamp. It's moldable and remoldable foam. You heat it up make an impression of your stamp in the foam and then when it cools off you have a new stamp. You can heat it up again and then use it again. Isn't that cool?

FFCFriend This one is for the the girl's Friday Fun Challenge. This week Sherry challenged us to make a Friend card, Non-Romantic.

Now make sure go check out all the other girls' creations.

Ok, now it's time for the tutorial that I promised yesterday.

Delight Ok this is the stuff I used to make the frame. As you can see it's called Delight Air Dry Modeling Compound. Also as you can see it's about $5 a package.
Versamark The next thing I do is prep my stamp with Versamark. Now I don't know if this is really necessary but I saw where someone did this for another technique and thought it was a good idea.
PressingClay I then work the clay together until a get a good feel and then flatten it out. Next I press the stamp into the air clay.
SidebySide Before I take the stamp away I do take as much of the extra air clay away as I can. Here's a side by side comparison of the stamp and the impression. Pretty cool, huh? As you can see there's still some extra residue.
Trimming So while it is still "wet" I will use a craft knife to cut away as much of the reside or extra air clay as possible to give it as clean a look as possible.
Finished

This is the finished "wet" product. It takes several hours for it to dry and then you can pretty much do whatever you want.
