Abra don't look

if you want to be surprised.
My nephew LOVES dinosaurs. This is really an understatement. At 4 he already knows everything about them. If there is one that they sold at Michael's he owns it (and actually as he and I discovered one day he owns twins and triplets of some of them).
Here I made him his very own name frame. While I think he'll like it to begin with he won't appreciate the fact that he can't play with it. Which is why I made him a matching dinosaur treasure box, this way he does have something he can play with. Now granted I don't know how long it will last considering he is 4 and is not made of steel or anything else indestructible. Oh well, we'll see.

It's A Jungle In Here

Banners away my love, banners away! I just got done making the banner. The shower is this Saturday so it's a good thing I didn't put it off any longer but this time in my defense I didn't find out that long ago (only like a week ago). If you actually want a closer look you should be able to click on the photos.
Ok as for the things that went into the making of the banner: Foliage - Dollar Store, Hemp Cord, really can't remember the name of the letters, Acrylic paint white & gold mixed, Gold Pearl Ex, Green Eyelets, Purple & Green letters from Walmart (bridal colors), ampersand Target $ spot

And I got to play and make one more Gina K card, I'm sorry I'm being really lazy tonight. Mainly because I'm tired, but I'll look up the details for this card tomorrow and let you know what I did to make this card. I will tell you that I made it for Joanne's challenge.

I was playing around tonight with some of my Gina K stamps when I wasn't making a banner for a bridal shower for this Saturday (no I'm not done yet so I can't share) but I can share the card I made. Does that sound fair? When I'm done with the banner...hopefully tomorrow night I'll share that...okie dokey?

Going Asian

I just finished another one of those swaps I was telling you guys about that I signed up for...this one was for an Asian Themed ATC swap. This is the picture that I used to inspire the colors for my costumes. Although I've used this stamp before I wanted the coloring to be more authentic.

As for the ATC card itself instead of the details that I normally do. I'm going to go into a little more in depth because I did this one a little different.

Ok, here's the actual card...

1st I stamped Gratitude = Joy from Unity Stamp Co with Versamark and then embossed with dark green eP on Sping Moss PTI CS. Then I stamped Cherry Blossom Background on White Tissue Paper with SU Rose Red ink before putting on top of CS.

Once on top of CS, I then used a Club Scrap - Asian Collage in SU Going Gray on top to give it a more collage-y look. The last stamp on top is my Japanese Geisha woman (?) that I stamped individually colored with Prismas & OMS, cut out & then put on with pop dots.

I put a eyelet in the top corner and ran hemp through it to attach what they call Feng Shui Chinese Coins. Then to top it all off I added some Perfect Pearls & Stickles.

Happy Anniversary Pt. 2

I had another anniversary come up. I've known Audrey most of my life. However we haven't been friends until we were in the 7th grade. We didn't become "partners in crime" until about the 8th or 9th grade but that's a whole other story that will never be told. Well, she got married to her hubby Rob on a day that I don't know that I will ever forget...being that it's the day I was born. It's always the year (1996) I have problems remembering. Anyway, I was a little late in making it this year but I made them a stationary set and I wanted to make sure that I made it something they both could use because I really do care/get along with Rob as well. He really is a great guy and now I can say without any hesitation that I don't know if I could have picked out anyone better for her. They really do complement each other very well.

The Damage

Thanks everyone for your concern. I really appreciate it. My house really wasn't touched. However on our property had about 15 trees go down and our power didn't come back on until Tuesday night around 10 pm. Our garage had a tree go down on it and my grandmother's house (2 houses down) had a tree go down on the corner of her roof. Thankfully none of us were hurt and no real damage was done. Here's some pictures though.

These last two are my neighbors. The 1st one is my neighbor about three doors down and they lost 1/2 their house. The 2nd one is a house for sale about 1 mile up the road where as you can see a tree went through the house. So much for them selling it, at least for now.

Happy Anniversary

I can't believe it's been two years already. In one instance it seems like yesterday and the other seemed like a million years ago. They celebrated their two years together by running away to Charleston, I was so jealous. I haven't been able to go there in years and I love that place. But they deserved it. They they came back and got the cutest little Beagle puppy mix that Liam named Milo (aka Venus de Milo because she's actually a girl).

Ok, so I actually did make them a card to go with their gift.

I Got New Toys

I got new toys!! I got my 1st order in from Cornish Heritage Farms. I've never ordered from them although I've been drooling over their stuff for quite a while. Now I can't wait to break it open and play. (ok, time for a confession...you'll see how true that statement was in a minute when you scroll down on one of my cards)

Now on to the cards. So My Favorite Things aka MFT released some new sets last night and if you haven't checked them out yet you really should because they are really cute. Especially if you are a dog owner/lover. In honor of that they have a challenge so they can choose a guest designer for the month of June. This month's challenge was to make something with an animal stamp. Below are my submissions.

Stamps: MFT - By the Seashore, CHF - Primative Beginnings (for dunes in sand); Ink: Charcoal, Sunflower, SU Cool Carribean & Tempting Turquoise; Paper: SU So Saffron & Sage Shadow, Smooth White, Magnolia PP; Other Supplies: Primas, OMS, Baubles, Glossy Accents, Clear eP, Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Powder in Antique Linen (for the sand)

Stamps: eat cake graphics Little Peewee Bear, Itsy Bitsy Bear (side), ; Ink: Noir Black, Charcoal; Paper: Meliss Frances - Annabelle, We R Memory Keepers - Homemade Woven Thread & Urban Window Collection, American Crafts - Cats Cradle & Merry-Go-Round; Other Supplies: Caramel Fluff, Green Ribbon

I used pop dots on certain parts of the chair to give it dimension so it would look fluffy. Then I put the bears on pop dots as well.

Muchas Thanks

I have a slightly belated thanks to give to Ms. Meredith at Lizzie Anne Designs. Not that long ago she was asking us about our heroes. I wrote about my dad and how he was one of my heroes. This is what I wrote...

As for my hero it would have to be my dad. He's does so much for his family and with no complaining. He always put God & his family first. He's a very hard worker and he will never hear him complain. He would give you the shirt off his back if you ever needed anything and that's even if you just met him. He's never met a stranger. I could go on but I think you see the point. I really love my dad and wish I could be more like him.
For writing this I was chosen to get on of their stamp sets. And I did. Tis one. And yes, I've already made a card with it. No, I don't have a picture of it to share with you. No, I don't have an excuse as to why not. Ok, ok, I'll show it to you later. I'm sorry to you too now. Will you ever forgive me? Good, should we hug now?
LOL, I'll see you later.
