Baby's 1st Year

I finally got done with my project that I was telling you about the other day. I think it turned out pretty well. If you would like to see a picture of the beautiful girl, you can see her on my sister's blog - she takes such great pictures!!
Anyway, I'm thinking of making these to sell on etsy. What do you think?

Beach Blast

Ok, so I didn't just go down for the beach nor did I spend a lot of time at the beach. BUT I did have a blast. Jennifer and I really haven't gotten together in years and to really tell on myself it was the first time I met her son Logan (he's 3 1/2).

We hung out, went to the beach and of course ate. I got to try all kinds of new places they don't have around here, including this Irish pub named McGuire's. It was so good.

Here's some pictures from this weekend...

LoganJenniferLogan "dancing in the waves"This picture effect was totally on accident. But it turned out really coolThe ceiling at McGuire's, they say there's $500,000 and counting hanging throughout the restaurant.

Well this Hip Hopper was that good of a Hip Hopper. I was so busy yesterday with work (how dare they actually keep me busy while I'm there when I should be hip hopping), then I had to come home to pack (I'm heading to Pensacola this weekend so I won't be around for a couple of days), and then for some reason my customers wanted their Avon orders...go figure! However I did a few things done.

I have to tell you that I love these clocks by Unity Stamp Co. And for some reason to me they scream to be distressed. So when I went to do Amber's challenge this week, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with these. There are so many people that I want to send this to, my biggest problem is actually sending it to them.

REMINDER: TOMORROW IS HIP HOP THURSDAY! Don't forget to check out Angela's blog for awesome specials. Plus if you want to get addicted and win stamps (because who wouldn't want to do that) come join us in the SCS Unity forum.

Sneak Peek

No, I'm not doing another disappearing act. I've been really busy this weekend. I did a lot of laundry and housework that I've been putting off for a while (gawd, I hate that stuff!!)

This evening I got back into the swing of crafting. One of my sister's best friends and a friend mine just her first baby so I'm in the midst of making a gift for her. Here's a glimpse of what I'm making because I'm not quite done yet. I hope to be done tomorrow and be able to post all of the details. Until then, have a good Monday!!

Just for Kids

I made this 3 x 3 card as sweet little card that could go in a lunchbox. My mom used to do those for us when we were little. I still have some of them that I pull out and look at every once in a while. This is also for the Unity Stamp Co. Hangover Blog Hop. Be sure to check out the other blogs to see what everyone else made.

Being Challenged Again

For someone that really doesn't have any men in her life, I have my nephew and my dad, making these man cards is not the easiest thing for me. However I think I did quite well on this one. I had no idea what I was going to do when I started just what stamp I wanted to use.

An Anniversary Card

I so love this stamp that I just got from Unity Stamp Co. and I couldn't wait to use. So when I looked at my calender earlier today and saw that some of my friends' anniversary is coming up in the next couple a weeks, I started thinking I need to go ahead and make it before I forget....PLUS it gives me an excuse to break out my So and So Loves stamp. Now hopefully she won't be looking at my blog before she gets the card.

A Digital Card

I was sitting at work today and I really didn't have much to do. I was sitting there sitting there staring at the new CPS sketch wishing that I was at home and could play with it. Then I thought why can't I now, I have a few digital kits here on my computer at work. Then I thought why not? And this is what I came up with a digital card. Don't worry I don't think this is something I will do on a regular basis. It's not because it was hard and it's not because it too a lot of time. I just like to get my hands "dirty", do you know what I mean?
All papers are from J. Sprague Strawberry Lemondade Kit. So is the Paisley Ribbon. The brads are from J. Hosford Love Notes Kit. The Rose is a Photoshop Brush from Inobscuro and the Scattered Leaves is from a brush set called Natural Brushes.

A Little Princess

JenMarie told us about this little girl named Mattie that they are sending cards such to in honor of Juvenile Diabetes Research. I made this "Pizza Box" for her. I'm hoping she likes the Disney Princesses. I used Unity and Hero Arts animals as a background like for the animals that helped her make her dress and her ready for ball.
Stamps: Unity - Giggle Grove, Hero Arts - Trees, Birds and Messages; Ink: Versamark; Paper: PTI - Sweet Blush; Other: EK Sucess Sticker Cinderella

Just Relax

With everything that has been going on the last weeks, it's nice to sit back and relax even if it's for a few minutes doing something that helps you unwind. Even if that something is making a card to tell someone to take time for themself.

Manly Challenged

When I got the challenge to make a card that was masculine card, I didn't realize how much of a challenge it would be. Because I don't consider myself a girly girl however I couldn't for the life of me figure out what I wanted to make. So this is what I finally came up with.

Unity Cards and a lil Candy

So I finally got a chance to play around today. First time in a long time. It's funny cause the it's been a while I forgot while in the midst of making the 1st card that I wasn't trying to make a typically sized card. The 2nd one I ended up messing up but I ended up recovering instead of totally scrapping and I really like the way it turned out. The last one turned out exactly the way I wanted it to...YEAH!!! Ok, so I guess by this time you actually want to see what I made, alright here they are.
Stamps: Unity - Wispy Grass (Wish Kit), Tiny Trinity, Doily Background, Hero Arts - Tree, Birds And Messages; Ink: PTI - Berry Sorbet, Sweet Blush, Stewart Superior - Raw Sienna; Paper: PTI - Sweet Blush, SU Blush Blossom, Bravo Burgandy, Basic Grey - Beauty

Stamps: Unity - Wish Sticks (Wish), Worn Vintage Clock (A Moment of Tea), Quiet
Willow (Gratitue =Joy), Doily Background, MFT - Essential Sentiments; Paper: Paperbilities, SU Blush Blossom; Ink: Charcoal, Raw Sienna; Misc: Copics, Nesties

Now on to the good stuff. In honor of tomorrow being Thursday aka Unity Hip Hop Day I thought I would give away this stamp, angels among us. I put a playing card beside the stamp so you could see the size of the stamp. You have until Friday, October 10th at 5 pm EST to leave a comment and then I will pick a random winner.

Belated Thank You #2

I bet you were begining to wonder...hmm if there was a #1, is there going to be a #2. Well wonder no more. Yes, there is. I'm just that behind.

This is a big shout out thank you to Michelle aka Inspiration Blooms who sent a card to me/my mom before her surgery. She was so sweet to do this and I really appreciate it.

BTW, I'm not sure if I've mentioned this or not yet but she is home recovering at this point. So she is doing great. Thanks to everyone for all of the prayers and well wishes.

On to other news...

I got this coolest non-stamping prize - blog candy the other day. I'm not sure if you have heard of Stephanie Fizer or not but she is one of the new illustrator's that My Favorite Things is using to make their stamps. On her blog she was giving away one of the things from her etsy store, her Alice Notecards (as in Alice in Wonderland). I won them. I don't know if you have checked out her stuff or not but I think it's really good.

Wedding Favors

I don't know if anyone remembers or not but I finally got the wedding favors done for Charlie, our receptionist at work, all 140. You can't really tell from the picture here, but there is a peacock stamped as the background (from VivaLasVegas) in gold on red cardstock (Michael's). Then on top of then in a Burnt Orange Cardstock (Michael's) stamped in black from PTI is Perfect Blend because she was going to put these with tea bags.

The bride and groom loved them. They went very well with the reception colors.

Walking for Breast Cancer

Last year I joined this virtual program called Gal to Gal where you could walk for Breast Cancer. What it does is help grant wishes and contribute resources for Stage IV breast cancer patients and their families. You donate $5 to create a virtual walker which isn't much, you can always donate more. And if you want you can join my team...I created a very cheesy named one Team Skye.

Belated Thank You #1

This is a shout out and thank you to both Cyndi aka the Scrappy Chick and the girls at the Unity Stamp Company for the Blog Candy that I got in September. I have the larger set but this is the new set named Tiny Trinity...I love it and can't wait to use it as soon as life slows down a little bit which brings me to some more news.

Mom is out of ICU!!!!! YEAH!!! She got moved to a regular room or as they put it out to the floor yesterday. That's one step closer to home. Unfortunately she's still going stir crazy. Now she will be able to get more visitors including a certain 5 year old who has been going nuts to see her since the surgery.
