Think Snow

Are you thinking snow?  Have you been?  I don’t know that I’ve necessarily been but it’s supposed to be getting super cold here and maybe enough to snow.  Plus I’m trying to get more & more into the habit of using more of my supplies… like more and more of my paper, and different embellishments.ThinkSnow

Thick as Thieves

Not that long ago one of the girls I work with asked me to make a gift for her “sister” based on a card that she had seen on my blog. However she wanted it in an 8x10 frame. That took me a minute to think about that one because I have never converted a card to a larger work. Then she came back and asked me to include another image to be her “sister” or her. That part I thought, NO problem.

And here’s what I came up with…

Stamps: All Queen Kat Designs – Wa Loli & Bunny Chan
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Ink
Paper: Basic Grey – Wisteria, Bazzill Purple, MFT Perfect Panels
Extras: Copics, Spicas, Perfect Pearls, Currant Alcohol Ink, Purple Jewels, BH&G Frame, Mini Mister, Copic ABS System, Nestabilities

On the mat that came with the frame, I mixed some Perfect Pearls with Currant Alcohol Ink in a Mini Mister and added some water. Once filled I shook it all up and sprayed away then pounced over it with a paper towel to give it a rag effect. I really didn’t even need a heat gun because it dried so fast. I went ahead and did two layers of it, I wish you could see how much it shimmers.

YEEHAW It’s Friday!!

Gotta love it when Friday rolls around. And this is no exception. I wish I had a lot to tell you like I had a bunch of plans or something wonderful was going to happen. But I don’t. I do however have a bunch of cleaning to do around my house. I have studying to catch up on. And that’s just to name a couple. But you can always dream, right?

Goes right into the tag I made for this FFC that Jimmi gave us using the colors Yellow, Blue and Red. My colors are more muted but I had a lot of fun making this tag. It was day #8 of Tim Holtz’s tags.

Stamps: All images Unity Stamp Co – another sweet day (May 09 KoM), Fresh Beginnings (April 09 KoM)
Ink: All Distress Inks – Fired Brick, Old Paper, Shabby Shutters *yes I realize this is a green & not a blue, I goofed, Versamark, Memento Rich Cocoa
Paper: Shipping Tag that the wonderful Jimmi sent me, Chipboard, Vellum
Extras: Black & Orange/Yellow eP, golden ribbon, white acrylic, silver square brad, the music I downloaded & printed on the vellum using a laserjet

Please go see my other sassy girls, maybe their colors are better than mine.

I’M BACK BABY!!!

I’m so happy to be able to say that. You have no idea. Being without Internet since Sunday afternoon kinda makes you feel lost. Do you ever wonder what we did before we had it? I’m starting to. I mean 1st of all I wouldn’t know all of you guys. I wouldn’t have all of the awesome inspiration that I do, challenges, enabling and be able to have learned all that I did. Did I mention I wouldn’t have been able to have met you? Ok I guess that is enough.

I guess I can share with you something I made this week. I made this for a friend of mine at work, Kimmy. It’s for her boyfriend’s son, he’s 7. I’m really hoping the bow doesn’t take away from the masculineness of the robots. LOL

Stamps: MFT Love Machine
Paper: Mr. Roboto Digi Paper Pack, Cream & White Perfect Panels, Cosmo Cricket Cogsmo
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Distress Ink Old Paper, Versafine Black
Extras: MFT Brown Ribbon, PTI Twine & Buttons, Copics, Baby Braddies, Nestabilities, Distressor, Silver Dots, TH Gears, Silver Poster Paint, Spica

Snowy Cabin FWF & FFC Style

Here we are in time for another awesome Friday. I'm only working a part day today at work which means I have a longer weekend. For those that normally are reading my blog I would like to apologize for my short absence, I was working like crazy this week which is why I'm getting a short day today. WHEW!!

As some of you may know I went out of town last weekend to some friends' cabin deep in the woods. It's in north Georgia. It was majorly relaxing (much needed) and very enjoyable. I thought I would make them a thank you card to left them know how much we appreciated this for the FWF and FFC this week. It worked out great with the sketch that Jimmi gave us to work with. And I gotta tell you the cabin that Unity has isn't that far off from the cabin we stayed at on Buckhorn Farms, which if you're ever in the area you have to check out. This is what I imagine it would have looked like if it had snowed.
Stamps: Love Builds A Home
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Soft Stone, Heidi Grace PP, Bazzill Blue, Prism SSW
Extras: Copics, Nestabilities, Hero Arts Jewels, CB Embossing Folder, Liquid Applique, Sparkly Fluff
I hope you take the time to go get inspired by my other Sassy girls and see how they used the sketch Jimmi put out.

Snowy Royal Monday

It’s another Royal Monday and I hope you really enjoyed what Anita had to show you. If you didn’t come here from her blog you may want to go back to the Queen Kat blog to start the hop.

Yet another snowy card using a sketch. This weekend we went to a cabin in North Georgia and were totally hoping it would snow. According to my dad it did snow a little Saturday morning but it didn’t stick. It was plenty cold enough. Which brings back around to my card, my nephew running around all bundled up. This stamp reminded me of him.

Stamps: Bundled Up, Happy Holly Days
Ink: Versamark, Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Heidi Grace Snow, PTI Soft Stone, Bazzill Blue
Extras: Stampendous Pewter eP, Nestabilities, Sparkly Fluff, scrap paper, Threading Water punch, scrap ribbon, Copics

Now you really have to go see what Ashley has for you.

Now on a personal note. When I was in Middle School and High Alaba_7285School, I was a HUGE football fan. SEC football that is. My team has always been Alabama…. ROLL TIDE ROLL!! I used to sit in the radio listening to the games so I wouldn’t miss anything. My dad & I used to have so much fun watching them. After I moved here, Georgia, I didn’t watch so much but this Saturday when they played Florida, I so watched. I can’t wait til the championship game.

FWF FFC Becomes a Tag Junkie

I am going to admit I love trying new stuff. Which means I love following Claudine Hellmuth, Tim Holtz and Suze Weinberg. In case you don’t know already Tim Holtz is doing his yearly 12 tags of Christmas and just because I don’t celebrate Christmas doesn’t mean I enjoy the mess outta watching him and playing along.

Here’s my take on day 2, although I gotta say I had to make some of my stuff to look like Tim Holtz. I’ll explain at the end.

Stamps: All Unity Stamps – Simply Magical (Nov KOM), Rows of Yummies,
Ink: Versafine Black, Distress Ink Old Paper & Black Soot, Versamark
Paper: Manila Folder & MFT Perfect Panels
Extras: Antique Linens Distress Powder, Perfect Pearls, Red Smooch, Copics, Copper Metal Sheet, Chipboard, Sizzix Corners, Corner Distresser, Red Ribbon, SU Ticket Punch

OK, I didn’t have any tags & couldn’t find any at Walmart. What was I do do? I found out of what size they needed to be cut them out of manila folders & used my SU Ticket Punch to make them….VIOLA!! Then I didn’t have the Metal Corners he used, so I started thinking what did I have? I have metal sheets & a sizzix punch(?) for corners…AH HA!! I felt I was all good. I really like how it turned out.

The Friday Challenge for this month is also coming from Jimmi. She says that November & December are big months for EATING! and food which is why I used the rows of yummies on my card plus I thought it really played into the sentiment. Now ya gotta go see what the other girls made to make ya hungry today…

Aren’t They SO Cute?

I may not like the cold but that doesn’t mean I don’t like things that look cute in snow. Especially when it comes to these new Pure Innocence stamps. I think they are just adorable.

When the challenge came for My Favorite Things to use Kraft (yeah, like that was hard… gotta love that PTI Kraft) for a shot at a Guest Design Team spot. I went for it. I especially like making fringe for the scarf with my DMC floss thread, it’s not like I don’t have plenty from my cross stitch days.

Stamps: MFT Pure Innocence – Snow Day, Flurry of Love, Cool Yule
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Kraft, MFT Perfect Panels, SEI Juliette
Extras: UTEE, Copics, Liquid Appliqué, Spicas, Mike’s Dollar Jewel Word, Crystal Embellies, DMC Floss, CB Embossing Folder, Glitter, Pebbles Inc. Ribbon, Sparkle Fluff
