Would You Like to Ride in My Beautiful Balloon?

I really love the newest stamps that My Favorite Things has out now, they are called Inspired By.  They have that realistic touch to them.  I will say that it doesn’t really matter it seems like I like MFT either way.  So when I got this newest set I really needed an excuse to use it… FOUND ONE!!!  This week’s Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch and away I played.

FlyAway

I covered my base with Lille – 7 Gypsies paper  then I cut out 2 circles out of coordinating paper from the same pad.  However before laying them down, I broke out my new Prima Masks (#3) and some Glimmer Mist to add some more hot air balloons to make it look like there would be more than 2.  The circles were added then I went to cutting out some more shapes, such as Die-namics Banner Day Die from Misc. Red cardstock (sprayed with water & walnut ink to distress) & the 2 hot air balloons that were stamped in Jenni Bowlin Stamp Tin & Seed Packet.  The blue twinery was added with glossy accents & then the banners were followed up with Helmar ZapDots.  The last touches were the hot air balloons with Liquid Scrap Dots.  Don’t forget your sentiment stamped in Versafine Tuxedo Black.

Pyrex & Gone to the Birds

PyrexI love me some birds.  I don’t know why but in the last couple of years I’ve really gotten into birds.  Which brings me to the challenge that know as the “Tuesday Trigger”.  Pull that trigger baby!!  We got some birds ready (ok, I know I’m getting cheesy, which if you look at the pic can kinda go with it).  Ok I know I’ve been stuck in a room too long or with fumes either way I’m getting punchy… LOL!  So maybe I should just show you what I got inspired to make.

The first card is a card with a Spellbinders die.  It was super easy to make, and I used rhinestones to mimic the pattern from the pyrex.  Then used a Unity Stamp Co. sentiment on the inside to complete it.  It will make a nice card you can just slip someone as a pick me up.

BirdCardBirdCardIn

The next one used the same birds die from Spellbinders.  I just covered the the base of the card with Cosmo Cricket – Salt Air paper.  Created a 1.5” white space with Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream CS then used American Crafts Black Foam Thickers.  Added the cutie birdies with some zapdots and all done.

From the Heart{h}

Hello my All Things Unity friends!!  It’s time for another challenge.  And this time we’re coming from the heart{h}.  What’s a hearth you say?  I mean it’s not like it’s an everyday word anymore.  It was the place in front of the fireplace that was used for cooking.  That’s why we are using anything food related.

CherryBling

For our cherry bling earrings, it was just stamped with Green StazOn on Shrink Plastic, colored with sharpies & Faber Castell markers then of course shrunk.  I added just a smidge of Rock Candy Distress Stickles on the green cherry then added the earrings.

PartyCake

Just a simple cute little 4x4 card.  I figured I do something a little different than fruit.  And who doesn’t like cake?  Cut our yellow Bazzill to 3.5x3.5 and stamped with our sentiment.  Colored the cake with Copics and added to the base with some of my new favorite adhesive.  I’m loving Helmar.  First, when I met Tracy and I was talking about a problem I was having about my Crop-a-dile she said try the Remove Cleaner.  At first I was skeptical because let’s face it, we’ve all had someone try to sell us on something.  But over the weekend the more I used Helmar the more I got sold on the idea it might work.  Well let me just tell you I busted out the can and my crop a dile is acting like it’s brand new.  Why am I telling you about this now?  Because I used my crop a dile on my earrings and I used my ZapDots on this card.  So I’m totally loving Helmar right now!!

Now for you challenge players.  If you want a chance at the Flower Soft prize for this month this is your last chance to play.  So please come join us over at All Things Unity.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Creating a Memory FFC & FWF

I actually love when we have challenges like this.  Because then you sit there and have to pick a memory at random that hits you and inspires you to create and you never know what it will be.  When you look my card you will probably be thinking…WHA?

As most of you that have ever met me or talked to me will know I am a southern girl.  Nope I can’t hid from it.  Born and raised.  But a little known fact is my mom was a Brooklyn “Jew”  (feel like I should put in here that she’s still very much alive & kicking but she’s says she’s lived here more than there now).  That’s right I had a Bubbie and Zadie.  Because of my mother’s northern roots and my father (yep, he’s a Mississippi boy) living there for nine years, I’ve visited New York many a time.  I {heart} it big time.  I seriously wanted to live there.  No SERIOUSLY!!  Would still move there if given the opportunity.  I used to go visit quite frequently.  However, now it’s been quite a few years since I’ve been.  Doesn’t mean I don’t still love it and have many good memories there.  Hence the inspiration behind today’s card.

Live Be

I used Unity’s City of Love which I stamped on a Jenni Bowlin Bingo card with Versafine Tuxedo Black ink & poured some metallic eP over.  Then I used some of my new favorite markers by Faber-Castell (I got mine at Ellen Hutson’s store).  I love them because while they’re still wet you can smudge them to give that shadow effect but once they are dry they are color fast & waterproof.  Neat, huh?  Seriously IN LOVE!!  Then I just mounted on some mustardy Bazzill paper.

On a 4x 5.5” base I put a 1” inch edge with the Be Mine masked off to use just the Be, then add 3 Bazzill rhinestones.  Then add 2.5” x 4” piece of Salt Air by Cosmo Cricket on bottom edge.  Once this is all added I added by Bingo piece tied it off with some Crushed Shells Glimmer Mist colored Seam Binding with some more rhinestones added in the corner.

So are we ready to find some more memories?  Me too…

Trying Something New

I’m going to admit in a huge way some much I LOVE this challenge!!!!  It stems from the fact that I just got Donna Downey’s Inspired event in Charlotte last week.  To say that I want to play and try out new things would be an understatement!!  Hence when I saw this was our challenge for this week I wanted to just jump up and down.

While there I got to take a class from Christy Tomlinson, let’s just say it rocked!!!  I combined what I learned in that class with some other tidbits I learned along the way through the week.

I gotta say the only down side to the entire thing is the fact that this was the last Inspired event… BOO!! It just figures when I find out about something it would be the last one.  I am extremely grateful that I did get a chance to go to this one.  I wouldn’t have missed it!!

I plugged in my ear phones, which I hardly ever do (normally I plug in a movie).  Started jamming away while I let inspiration flow.

I’m so glad you were able to stop by and will now join me as I go check out the other girlies…

Break out the Unused

The poor neglected, ignored and unused.  Sitting there waiting for you to use them and to feel your love.  That was kind of the point of this challenge over at All Things Unity.  If you have anything fitting that description and uh umm ya know you do, come play with us.

Now I made my project, I got the opportunity to make while at Donna Downey’s Inspired.  EEKKK!!!  So you know I had to use some of my Donna Downey “inspired” stamps.

Thanks for coming to see but make sure NOW you come and play!!

New Month, New Challenge FWF FFC

Hello my darlings!!  Well crazy town may officially be slowing down just a bit.  Later today I will be finally heading to Athens for the Craft Fair.  So if you are in the area I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU!!!  If not, I totally understand.

We in the Friday FUN Challenge world are starting a new month of challenges, although you wouldn’t know if by me since I’ve missed the last few due to drowning in craft world.  But I hope to be getting back  into the swing of it now.  Kimme is the one back to challenging us and today she challenged us to use ribbon and/or pearls.  Cool combo!!

SmileSuit

I used seam binding and twine for my ribbon.  For my pearls I used Liquid Pearls for the dots on the bathing suit.

Now for those All Things Unity fans out there, we have something special out there that you will really want to check out tomorrow on the blog.  So stay tuned.  As for being tuned in though you may want to go check out …
