Craft Fair

headerAthens Indie Craftstravaganzaa is a craft that is going to be going on this coming May in Athens, Georgia.  And if all goes right, it will be my first craft show.  I’ve been doing some prepping.  However I’m trying not to do too much until I know for sure we are in.

I did however make some jewelry pieces so they could have some sample ideas of what I would offer.  We (my sister, a friend & I ) were going to use the name Eclectic Chic but found out we could sign up under individual names.  Well I figured for selling purposes I would keep it for myself, I thought it fit.  Then Abra & I started talking and thought for our booth we might call ourselves Eclectic Chic{ks}.

I also thought I might even go so far and offer some paper crafting goodness {wink, wink} like…

I would love to know what you think.  I would also love to know what experiences you have had and any advice you have.

Bling It On

That’s our newest challenge over at All Things Unity.  Do you like the bling?  Are you addicted to it like I am?  I almost feel like there is something missing on my card if there isn’t some sort of bling on my card.  So when Sav came up with with this “challenge” I wanted to almost laugh because for me this is not a challenge.

And don’t forget that if you play along you get a chance for a really cute Jillibean Soup kit.

Dancing with My Sassy Girls FFC

Well I’ve been trying to get back into the swing of things and I have been getting there still slowly.  So I’ve been sneaking in FFC through my girl Jimmi.  From what I got the challenge was to use red & black (Christi’s alma mater colors).

I thought this went the card I had spinning around in my head went really well with the All Things Unity challenge to make a celebration card.  I went with an anniversary card.

{Happy} Happy Girl!!

As you may have known I have been re-doing a room in my house to make it my “office” aka my craft room.  I was going to buy a desk but I decided to get a little industrious and try something.  I bought a solid wood door, which I painted with a glossy white.  Then my dad built me a base that I then painted with the same glossy white (easier to wipe clean).  Well tonight he and I moved it into my office!!! Last weekend we put up my shelves and I put up a bar & moved in an older table.  Although I’m not totally done it’s starting to shape up a LOT more.  I’M SO EXCITED!!!

Roomy

Now I’m going to have to start loading it up.  The best part!!!  And I can promise you I’m going to have stuff I’ll be purging.

Enough about my happy, happy; joy, joy.  I do have a card to share.  One of my very favorite stamp companies is My Favorite Things.  They take up a great deal of room in my new office.  LOL  Because though I have been out of commission for so many months I haven’t gotten to play with them as much as I want.  However this week I did get a chance to play with the sketch challenge.  It’s so much fun being able to get back into the swing of things.

It’s All Worth It

We are butterfly linking today, thanks to girlfriend Eva.  For many butterflies mean so many things.  For me, it’s a way into a beautiful transformation.

With that being said, there are so many beautiful products out there with butterflies.

So many to choose from where do even begin to choose?

I had such a hard time I ended up at the last minute throwing something together.  EEK!!

WorthIt

I got this technique from Ms. Jess Witty.  Lately it seems I want to CASE everything she does.  Not only that but I’ve been extremely addicted to my Shimmery sprays.  Guess that’s why I decided to play with the It’s the Stamping with Shimmer Sprays Challenge in the Moxie Fab World again.

Now when I did mine though I will give you a couple of hints.  To get the effect that I did, I used a can of air… because all of crafters have a can of air in our craft room, right?  Also after I stamped my main images on the desired effect (1. I made sure I didn’t touch anything) but then I reactivated the embossing powder so that the images couldn’t be wiped off, cool huh?.

NEXT you may want to head over to Eva’s blog so that you can not only check out the other butterfly projects BUT there are also HUGE prizes.  DID I mention HUGE!?!

Shimmerin Tickin FFC

It’s been quite a while since I got to play with my fellow sassy girls and I have so missed them.  I secretly messaged Jimmi to find out what the challenge was this week so I could sneak in a card.  I’m not even sure who put up the challenge this week.  I just know that it’s about clocks and time because it’s Daylight Savings Time this weekend.

I also decided to play with my Shimmer-y Mists because I saw challenge that Cath put out on Moxie Fab World.  It’s the Stamping with Shimmer Sprays Challenge in the Moxie Fab World plus I used the sketch for March I <3 Sketches {Jen del Muro}.

TicTock

I used the Glimmer Mists to not only color my ribbon but when I sanded cardstock I used it to readd come color back.

Now don’t forget to check out the other Sassy girls…

Joining the Rejection Train

One of my friends Ashley put it this way FB so I hope she doesn’t mind that I’m borrowing it.  Papercrafts Magazine invited us rejectees to link up through a mini-blog hop that Dr. Amber was putting together.

I have to say I kind of like this idea because you still get to share your cards and maybe even to new people.  Thanks Dr. Amber & Papercrafts Mag!!Sketch1

Shut Up!

I got an email today from a good friend of mine today but before I go into that I guess I can rewind a little.  As you all know I’ve been on hiatus for about 4 months now, which was not an easy decision for me to make.  I am finally making progress towards coming back.  When I say progress, I mean baby steps.  Ones not so much self inflicted as self forced.

As some of you may know 2 years ago next month I had back surgery, well the pain is back with a vengeance.  I’m having to learn to respect my body’s limitations whether I like it or not.  Most of the time…NOT!!  It’s very frustrating and can sometimes be down right depressing (insert tears here).  However I’m determined to not give up because I refuse to lay around and be a vegetable.  That and I love what I do.  Recently I created a couple of cards for All Things Unity and then a couple of more for other things.

I even called another friend of mine because as I put it, I had been out of it for so long I just wasn’t confident in what I was doing and needed feedback.  She is such a sweetheart and gave me such wonderful criticism but was worried she would hurt my feelings.  I love her for that!!

Then I got my email today for my friend Kim Howard, with mainly a picture attached asking how I liked what was published.  I was like what?  Then I was like WHAT?!?!?!?!?!!?  Hey, that’s me.  I can’t tell you the boost that gives you.  Of course I had to run out and actually look at the actual magazine because this was my first time being published.  Turns out I had 3, that’s right THREE, in the magazine.  YEAH!! me.  And they were all Unity images…WOOHOO!!
