Dropping in to say HI with another card.
Hope you’re having a wonderful week!!
Alice didn't dare to argue the point, but went on: `-- and I thought I'd try and find my way to the top of that hill -- '
`When you say "hill,"' the Queen interrupted, `I could show you hills, in comparison with which you'd call that a valley.'`No, I shouldn't,' said Alice, surprised into contradicting her at last: `a hill can't be a valley, you know. That would be nonsense -- 'The Red Queen shook her head, `You may call it "nonsense" if you like,' she said, ` but I've heard nonsense, compared with which that would be as sensible as a dictionary!'--Ch. 2: Through the Looking Glass
Now last week’s challenge was Chapter 32: Journey to the Center of the Earth where Jen challenged us to fall down the rabbit hole… literally. She wanted us to create a card with a window or a card. Last week I was sick but I had already created some of my card and I wanted to finish it so I did.
NO!! Just kidding!!
I don’t think I could make origami to save my life unless it was to make one of those things we made as a kid where you wrote different things on the insides and got different outcomes. Can’t remember what they are called.
However we are making cards that aren’t your standard folds as Kimme puts it. No regular top or side folds. This is your chance to try out stair step, pop up, accordion fold, the list goes on. I went with gate fold. I guess I should also warn you that I think that my mojo is gone. So not one of my favorite cards.
Wanna see other kinds of folds there are? You might wanna check out the other Sassy girls…

Ever since I can remember my nephew has loved dinosaurs. He got where he could name all of them, tell you all about them at that was just when he was like 2 1/2. He’s now 6 1/2 still loves him some dinosaurs. When the movie Wild Things came out you can imagine how excited he was. For him it was just a step away from dinosaurs. So when My Favorite Things came out with a new set called Little Loveosaurus for me it was a no brainer to get it.
And I made him a whole of stuff with it from a Tee Shirt to a bookmark (with him being in first grade he’s really gotten into reading. He just started Diary of a Wimpy Kid.) Side Note: I made one of those bookmark cards. It was super easy & it went over big!!
My super happy, cute model!!
Stamps: MFT – Little Loveosaurus, I {heart} books
Ink: Palette Noir, Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Basic Grey – Archaic & Black Tie, SEI – Addison, SU Brown Textured CS, PTI Soft Stone

Everywhere!! I so love flowers. These not many I don’t like. So when our illustrious Kim has come back as our hostess for this month and challenged us to make our own flowers, you know I had to do it!!
I love me some flowers!!!
And if you know me at all… you know I could just do the norm.
I broke out some tulle, my nestabilites, a Basic Grey brad, a little wire and headband. And this is what I came up with…
Now I have to find a cute little girl to give it to.
Also, now that I’ve had a chance to sit back after a very long day at work, I’m going to go check out what the other sassy girls made today.
It’s a BEE-YOO-TI-FUL!!! Friday!! It’s gorgeous day outside and going to hopefully be a glorious weekend. Now if only I get and keep myself motivated all weekend.
I’m getting Spring Fever at work like crazy. Anyone else?
How about some fun stuff? April means fun doesn’t it? Christi our fearless host for this month thought so because she used it as our challenge for this week. A little something like this.
A – Animal
P – Polka Dots
R – Ruffles
I – Inked Edges
L – Label or journaling block that looks like a label
I think it was a really cool sounding challenge.
Stamps: All Lizzie Anne Designs – It’s Good to Be Queen (Monthly Mix)
Ink: Memento – Tuxedo Black, Rick Cocoa, Bahama Blue, Sweet Plum
Paper: Basic Grey – Urban Prairie, SU Certainly Celery
Extras: Hero Arts Pearls, MS Grass Punch, Lace Ribbon, B00 Copic
Now, I’m off to see what the other sassy girls made today for A-P-R-I-L, want to join me?
I hope you are all having a wonderful SPRING week. We have been having a crazy weather week, it’s been ranging from the 70s to the 40s here. Personally I hope it will even out soon. Everything is in bloom and it’s been gorgeous. This month is one of my favorites. And this is one of the reasons why. When I had lunch the other day, this was one of my views. I took this with my phone. It turned out a lot better than I expected.
I have such a problem running on, I need to learn to stop babbling. I will show you the sketch for this week’s Whimsical Wednesday.
It’s by Jack. I gotta tell you one of these days I’m gotta meet these kids. And bring my nephew, he would have a blast with them!! I just know it.
Now as for the bumping around… I used my new set from My Favorite Things Baby Bump just seemed to fit this sketch perfectly. Let me know what you think. Then you can go see what everyone else did this week.

Stamps: MFT Baby Bump

Feeling Inspired? This Whimsical Wednesday we’re using an image to get us inspired. And I have to say it took me a minute or two to figure out what I was going to do. Was I going to use the colors? The cat? The stars? Well you get the idea. Then I figured out I couldn’t do the cat because I don’t have any cat images, I’m just not a cat person (doesn’t help that I’m allergic). I decided to go with the colors and the tea setting. Now I just want to go see the movie.
I believe I was supposed to use a Character Cafe stamp this week but I totally goofed, I think it may have been partly because I completely flaked and I was very excited that I got my Kimmie stamps in.
Stamps: Yvette, Unity Teapot
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Misc Purple, Basic Grey – Lime Rickey, Neenah SSW
Extras: Nestabilities, Stickles, Ribbon, Copics
I sure hope you will all play this week! Any project is welcome! Be sure to use keyword DDSC26 when uploading to an online gallery. Go Away!! Ok, so far it’s not raining. I probably should have made this card last week but when I saw this image, I thought it was fitting. Cause sometimes it’s not always about the rain from the sky (yes I realize I’m getting philosophical now). Sometimes it’s under the premise of when it rains it pours. With all of that in mind I will tell you that Sherry did challenge us to use purple.
Stamps: All Unity - Hodge Podge of Happiness, enjoy Your story…laugh (Nov KoM)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black & Potter’s Clay, Distress Ink Weathered Wood
Paper: Neenah CS, Basic Grey – Wisteria, Purple from Petterson Arne
Extras: Copics, Nestabilities, Prima Pearls, Yellow Stickles, Glossy Accents
I hope you got a chance to check out the other sassy girls earlier but if not here’s a link to their blogs.
When you are on a diet where would be the worst place for you to go? Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, right?
So when I’m on a paper buying freeze because I have entirely too much paper where would be the last place I would need to go? CHA!!! It’s like heaven for paper addicts. Paper, lots of glorious paper. More than a normal person can process. For those that don’t know about my addiction you can refer back to this post.
There was so much to choose from: My Mind’s Eye, Basic Grey, October Afternoon, Bella Blvd, Jillibean Soup, Kiki Art, … I could probably go on forever.
One of my favorite lines & I have to admit one of my favorite booths was My Mind’s Eye. The people there were super nice (Amber, AC, Cam & Jason). I mean how can you not have fun when they have a fun zone cabana with one of the sweetest girls and all the hot guys?
Do you see the paper in the background, isn’t it gorgeous? Wanna see more?

Some of it’s even flocked, it’s just so beautiful.
Of course I loved the Basic Grey lines!! Who couldn’t love them. I don’t know what happened to all the pictures of took of them but I do have one of them. But I can direct you to more.
The Make & Take we did was with the Kioshi line. It was so pretty!!! Did you want to see more? You can go see what Jimmi put on her blog.
Another brand new line is the Girls’ Paperie by Margie Romney. It makes a girl’s heart go flutter.
However you say it the meaning is just the same. Today is Friday Fun Challenge once again. I gotta tell you I so love doing these and love having an excuse to talk to my girls. Originally the challenge was to make a thank you card for someone you wouldn’t normally thank. After talking about we couldn’t think of anything. Although now as I’m sitting here writing this I could have made one as a thank you to all my girls for just being my Sassy Girls. I also thought about making one to the deer for messing up my car… this one would have been more sarcastic.
However we decided to just change the challenge to one where you make the outside & inside of the card. Which fits in perfectly with the Moxie Fab Challenge that is up now, just in case anyone wants to play along with us.
Stamps: 3 Step School Days
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Rich Cocoa, Desert Sand, Rhubarb Stalk, London Fog, Cottage Ivy, Versafine Imperial Purple, Distressed Ink Weathered Wood
Paper: PTI Kraft & Stone Soft, Basic Grey – Scarlett’s Letter, Misc Scrap
Extras: Copics, Igloo Glue, Paper Piercer, Paper Distressor, Offray Lace Ribbon, Copics
Ok, now I’m off to see what what everyone else has made today.
I’m now part of Royal Kat Tuesday. As I alluded to yesterday, all of us apart of the hop today will show you the same stamp set using the same sketch. Hopefully you will get lots of inspiration. We are using Hooters Surprise.
I hope you like what you saw on Meredith’s blog, however if you didn’t come from her blog you might want to start from the QKD blog to see what everyone has done.
This is the sketch we are using…
I did my own interpretation of the sketch & this is what I came up with.
Stamps: Hooters Surprise
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Paper: Basic Gray – Wisteria, Bazzil Purple, SU Very Vanilla, PTI Kraft
Extras: Copics, Nestabilities, Purple Jewels, Misc Purple Ribbon, MM Rubons - Friends
And as promised yesterday, here is my card based on it’s sketch.
Stamps: Hooters Surprise
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: SEI Juliette, MFT Perfect Panels, PTI Kraft
Extras: Nestabilities, Copics, SEI Juliette Rub ons, MFT Grosgrain Brown Ribbon
Now please continue on with the fun and see what Anita has to show you with the sketch.
And don't forget there's a MAKE YOUR OWN SALE going on.
That makes all clearance items 65% off
use coupon code: BL10
And here’s what I came up with…

Stamps: All Queen Kat Designs – Wa Loli & Bunny Chan
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Ink
Paper: Basic Grey – Wisteria, Bazzill Purple, MFT Perfect Panels
Extras: Copics, Spicas, Perfect Pearls, Currant Alcohol Ink, Purple Jewels, BH&G Frame, Mini Mister, Copic ABS System, Nestabilities
On the mat that came with the frame, I mixed some Perfect Pearls with Currant Alcohol Ink in a Mini Mister and added some water. Once filled I shook it all up and sprayed away then pounced over it with a paper towel to give it a rag effect. I really didn’t even need a heat gun because it dried so fast. I went ahead and did two layers of it, I wish you could see how much it shimmers.
Christi’s challenge for us this week is to make gift tags or small cards. Great challenge right!!
I went with small cards and I thought one of the new sets from My Favorite Things called Wrapped In Love.
Stamps: Wrapped In Love
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Rich Cocoa

We have a new artist to introduce, Kelly Kost And she is amazing!! This new line is so cute and adorable. It’s so fun and whimsical. I won’t keep blabbing on about it I’ll just let it speak for itself. Let me know what you think. This is the stamp you have a chance to win if you do the sketch challenge from Tuesday.

The first challenge is from Queen Vicki herself. She’s challenging you in a color challenge. Pink, purple, grey & white… the colors of Queen Kat itself. You have until Monday 23rd to upload a sample of your work using the keyword QKDSR01. If you upload to your blog too then you can get an extra entry. Just make sure you put you add a link to your blog on QKD blog once you’ve done it so we can count you.
I hope you came from Anita's blog and her wonderful sample, if not you may want to start at the beginning of the hop at the QKD blog.
Here’s my take on the challenge…
Stamps: Wa Loli
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Misc Basic Grey, GA Pacific White, SU Textured CS, PTI Sweet Blush
Extras: Prisms, OMS, Copics, Nestabilities, Spicas
I also went out on a limb and did something a little different when I saw this on Suze W. blog the other day. I just didn’t make a pendant. I made a paper weight. It matches the card quite nicely.
Now make sure you go see what MY Ash made this week for some more inspiration. And just in case you missed anyone this week, here's the entire list of the blog hop.
