Winners!!!

I thought I would start off with winners, yes winners!! My sister did decide to pass up on the mystery gift so that means it goes to someone else. That someone else is...
Linda!!!

Now on to our book bag winner...Angie's Scrappin Spot!!!

Please contact me with your addresses and I'll get your prizes out in the mail.

I noticed something tonight that I had not done in a VERY long time, and considering this is what got me into stamping (as I'm sure it was the same for a lot of you) I'm kinda aghast. I have not used my Stampin' Up stamps in forevah!! You know I then had to break them out.
Stamps: SU - Patterns of Friendship; Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Palette L'amour Red; Paper: PTI Kraft, Bazzil Mono Browns, Prism SSW, Bo Bunny Press - Velvet Floral, Anna Griffin, WM Scrap pack; Other: PTI Twine, Berry Sorbet Buttons, Copics, Karen Foster stick pin

In Memory

In memory of what you may ask? One year and one week ago a thing called Hip Hop was started on Splitcoast. We all wondered what on what on earth? Hip Hop... you mean the music? NO!!! And thus begun a phenomenon that happened every Thursday that would suck you into it's vortex of fun with chatting and giveaways. Angela, the Goddess of Unity, has divined that the end of Hip Hop was yesterday but does that mean the fun is over? HARDLY!! Do we know what's up Angela's sleeve? Well, I don't...not yet at least, but I can't wait to find out.
Stamps: Unity Stamp Co - Giggle Groove, May KOM (...another sweet day); Inks: Memento Rich Cocoa; Paper: PTI Kraft & Chocolate, Basic Grey - Lime Rickey, Generic White CS; Other: Copics ABS, Chatterbox Ribbon, Horizontal Slot SU Punch
Now onto the fun!! It's Friday and time for our Friday Fun Challenge. This week's challenge is to make something you can wear. Now although I did that I can't seem to take a good picture of it to save my life. I might have to bribe my sister to come take it.
Stamps: Unity Stamp Co - Bevy of Butterflies; Ink: Stazon - Forest Green; Paper (?): Polyshrink; Other: Bobby pins
These are so easy to make. The only thing is you have to make sure that the bobby pin is really in there because they can come loose. I wear mine all the time and love them.

Would you like to see what everybody else made this week? Me too...

3) I am still celebrating my blogaversary. I've been cleaning up craft room and I came across some things that I thought you gals might like. So I have a mystery pack to give away but don't worry it will be filled with all kinds of good stuff. Please leave a comment by Monday, the 24th at 10 pm.

Friday Fun!! and a Realization

I was sitting here this evening and the realization hit me that my blogaversary was last week. I'VE BEEN BLOGGING FOR TWO YEARS!!! I can't believe it. In addition to your regularly scheduled posts for this week, each Friday for our Fun Challenge (especially since I'm hosting) I'll be giving something away. And if you play with us you will get an extra two entries.

This week's challenge was to make a card that was anything but the usual shape. I also wanted to make something a little masculine plus I think it might fit into this week's Jacksonbelle's challenge because I didn't do any stamping (I even used the stuff that I just got from their sale).
Paper: Cosmo Cricket - Cogsmo; Other: Coluzzle Heart Shape, Green Grosgrain Ribbon, Hero Arts Jewels, Shimmerz Spritz
Are you wondering what you could get if you start commenting and if you do the challenge with us? This cute little stamp from The Greeting Farm. Make sure comments and entries are done by Monday at 10 pm EST. If you do an entry worth 2 extra comments you can upload it to SCS with the keyword FFC44.

Wanna see what the other Friday Challenge Chicks did? Here's links to their blogs, make sure you leave them lovin' too...

Copic Heads Up

I almost forgot, DOH!! Michelle over at Crafting and Living in CopicsJapan is having a fantastic Blog Candy giveaway.

She's giving away TWO Kodomo stamps and FIVE Copic markers of your color choice!

Isn't that cool?!?! So go check it out.

A few things and something really exciting

fabby_blog KreativBlogger

I was given these by Jacquie & Catherine who are two of the sweetest, so I want to say thank you to them.

So what do I have to do, well you pretty much know.  It's the same thing every time.  I'm going to award it to all of my Unity Addict Challenge Chicks because to me they are both fabulous & creative.

GIUWinnerFor the winner of the Growing in Unity Blog candy just happens to be the sweet Jacquie that I was referring to.  She just needs to pick which of the singles she wants.  That's the hard part if you ask me.

Now, for the "something really exciting".  Marianne is going to be teaching a Copic Certification class in Pensacola on February 23rd.  I put in my application.  I just found out today that it was accepted!!  I am so excited!!  I can't wait now because it's only a month away....YEAH!!!!!

Growing in Unity - Day 5

USCgrow This is my final day and I have had so much fun this week. I hope you have too. Thank you all for leaving such nice comments, I've really appreciated all of them. They've been so sweet. Next week, Dawn aka dmk104 will be hosting so make sure you go check out what she has to showcase. *I'm going to draw the winner for the single later today and post it...please be patient with me. Sorry!!

WARNING: THIS IS A REALLY LONG POST!!

My first project today is...

PeacockClip

Stamps: Jan KOM (peacock), Oct KOM (ribbon), Dec KOM (swirl); Paper: GA Pacific White, SU Cool Caribbean, Tempting Turquoise; Ink: Palette Noir, Versamark; Other: Copics, Nesties, Gold & clear eP, Ribbon, Gold Poster Paint

AmazingHeart

Stamps: Argyle Heart (I'll show what I used to look like this in a second*), Simply Said; Ink: Paris Lights, Noir; Paper: GA Pacific White, Paper Studio - Silver Wedding Stripes, Bo Bunny Press - Midnight Paisley; Other: Nesties, Shimmerz Silver Bells

ArgyleHeart *I got this stuff that called Magic Stamp. It's moldable and remoldable foam. You heat it up make an impression of your stamp in the foam and then when it cools off you have a new stamp. You can heat it up again and then use it again. Isn't that cool?

FFCFriend This one is for the the girl's Friday Fun Challenge. This week Sherry challenged us to make a Friend card, Non-Romantic.

Now make sure go check out all the other girls' creations.
Sherry
Jimmi
Kim
Kathy

Ok, now it's time for the tutorial that I promised yesterday.

Delight Ok this is the stuff I used to make the frame. As you can see it's called Delight Air Dry Modeling Compound. Also as you can see it's about $5 a package.
Versamark The next thing I do is prep my stamp with Versamark. Now I don't know if this is really necessary but I saw where someone did this for another technique and thought it was a good idea.
PressingClay I then work the clay together until a get a good feel and then flatten it out. Next I press the stamp into the air clay.
SidebySide Before I take the stamp away I do take as much of the extra air clay away as I can. Here's a side by side comparison of the stamp and the impression. Pretty cool, huh? As you can see there's still some extra residue.
Trimming So while it is still "wet" I will use a craft knife to cut away as much of the reside or extra air clay as possible to give it as clean a look as possible.
Finished

This is the finished "wet" product. It takes several hours for it to dry and then you can pretty much do whatever you want.

Growing in Unity - Day 3

I have a super long post so let me start off by saying happy hump day. Well today is also is Unity Addicts Challenge and Maria challenged us to make bookmarks with a theme. The funny thing was I had already started doing one for this week I'm just going to show it to you a day early.

I got the idea for this bookmark from Kim at Paperie Petals.
Stamps: Unity Stamp Co - Nov KOM (Home Story & Frame), Aug KOM (Butterfly), Oct KOM (Good Times), Dec KOM (Bliss), Mix Up of Cuteness, Worn Grid; Ink: Palette Noir, Rouge, Charcoal; Paper: Basic Grey - Scarlet's Letter Walks in Beauty, Misc Red; Other; Threading Water Punch, Round Punch, Copics, Gold eP, Martha Stewart Crosshatch Silver Sage
I would like to share a tip with as to what I do when I go to start a card/project with my Unity stamps. Since I keep all of them together, when I get my new ones in with the "index sheet" I punch a hole in the top left corner and add it to my binder ring. It helps me to keep up with what I have and scan through real quick to plan out what I want to use.

Ok one more thing and I promise that's it for the day 3. This week's Featured Stamper is Lori Craig. Now I don't know her personally but I have chatted with her several times through email and she is one of the sweetest people. So when I saw that she was the featured stamper I had to do this challenge.
Stamps: Jan KOM, Aug KOM (Butterfly); Ink: Palette Noir; Paper: PTI Aqua Mist, MM 5th Avenue, GA Pacific; Other: Pearl & Rhinestone Stickers, Copics, Nesties, Primas, Karen Foster Ribbon
Ok, I lied, I do have one more thing to mention. I have figured out the stamps for you to pick out from if you are picked from my commentors this week.

Blog Candies Run Down

A Little Late

GoodGirls

I made this with two things in mind, actually three but I'll only bore you with the 1st two.  The first being the challenge that Jimmi posted for the Friday Fun Challenge, see I told you I was late.  The challenge was to use Rubber Romance stamps...not really a challenge for me.  Especially since I'm the ringleader for the group over at Papercraftplanet (which if you would like to come join us PLEASE DO!!)

SK121308ARWhich brings me to the second reason, the sketch challenge they currently have up at Papercraftplanet is this one.   As you can tell I loosely interpreted it.

Stamps: Rubber Romance - 3 Girlfriends, Unity Stamp Co. - Good Times; Ink: Palette Noir, Paris Lights, Versamark Black; Paper: Paper Salon Dazzle line, DP scraps; Other: Copics, Marvy Circle Punch, Rhinestones, clear eP, Glaze Pens, Zig Pen

Now for the surprise, if you can guess what three girls inspired the coloring of the card I might have something in it for you.  If I don't get some close guesses I'll ETA a clue.

Craft Day & Candy Winner

Ok, yesterday I had the following conversation with my nephew:

Liam:  I don't have a mask.  I sure would like to have a mask.

Sara:  What kind of mask?

Liam:  A lion mask.

Sara:  Would you like to make it?

Liam:  YEAH!!!

And so proceeded to have our craft day.  Now let me explain some back thinking on my part (misguided as it was).  Here I was thinking, this is cool.  He will be working on his mask and I can get some work done in my craft room while he does it.  Let me resummarize that thought in one word....HA!!!!

I had to be involved in the entire process.  It was very fun.  First LionColoringhe wanted a front and back to his mask.  And this was to be no typical lion mask, he wanted his lion to be multicolored. (WARNING: My craft room looks like it has exploded.  Please ignore this fact)  Then when he colored the back and was finished, he wanted to put his name on it.

If this weren't all enough, I asked him, "Liam, would you like to add leaves?".  "No."

"Would you like to add flowers?"  Thinking there's no way a boy would want to add flowers.

"NO"  Ok, I was right.LionColoring2

"Would you like to add ribbon?"  Again thinking, he's not going to want to add ribbon.

"Yes" Huh? Ok.

Alright.  Now we have a multicolored lion that we're adding ribbon to.  I grab my scrap ribbon jar and then ask him which ribbon would he like to add.  He chooses the purple one.  Purple?  I think.  Hmmm?

"You want me to find you some red since you said it was your favorite color?"

"No, I want purple"

By the way, he told me today purple was his favorite color.

And here is the finished product...

A Hip Hop, A Hip to the Hop

Yes, it's that time again.  Time for another hangover the one without the headache or other aftereffects of alcohol, well most of them.  If you hung out with us yesterday you may be tired.  Some cut out a little early to head to the movies.  There were a lot of specials going on yesterday including free shipping on all orders over $25 (these are still good until 12 noon CST).

One of yesterday's challenges was to make a Think Snow Challenge.  I went a little overboard on it and it didn't exactly come out as I imagined it in my head.  I used the new November KOM.

OhDeer

Stamps: Unity Stamp Co - November KOM; Ink: Palette Black & Raw Sienna, SU Always Artichoke; Paper: Basic Grey - Deciduous, SU Certainly Celery, Almost Amethyst, GA Pacific White; Other: Heidi Swapp Snowflakes, Snowflake Ribbon, Cuttlebug Snowflakes, Rounded Corner Punch, Copics

I will announce the Blog Candy winner for the Snow Paper and today's winner at the same time.

I also have another prize to give away for Day 3 of the Blogoversary.  I have a pail of Michael's Wedding flowers that are great for cards and just as easy to use as Primas.  Just leave a comment by Saturday, November 22 8 pm EST and I will randomly draw a winner.

One more thing and I will end this long post.  Debbie at Passion for Crafts is having some major Blog Candy including Copics so go check it out.

A Threefer and Day Two of the Blogoversary Giveaway

Tonight was such a busy little girl.  I was actually organizing.  I StampStorage know *GASP*!!!  Natalie aka Dougnat suggested these stamp organizers that they have at Target for $1.99 but they don't have them at my Target.  Well, I started thinking what else do I have.  I have the Document Holders that Target usually sells in the $1 spot and they work just as well and let me tell you they hold A LOT!!

When I finished filling the ones I had, I decided to go ahead and make a card.  I made it to fit three challenges, the color, inspiration, and sketch challenge

Threefer

Stamps:  Unity Stamp Co - Gratitude=Joy, Together Forever; Ink: Versafine Black, Creamy Caramel, Real Red; Paper: Real Red, Kraft, GA Pacific White; Other: Stickles, Black Pen

On the two side plants, I stamped off the black once before I stamped on the card.  Then on the reeds I used a blending stump dipped in Creamy Caramel ink to draw them in to match what I chose for my inspiration challenge.

Now it's on to Day Two of the Blogoversary giveaway.  Today I am giving away a Provo Craft paper pack.

8x8Slab

Please leave a comment by Friday, November 21 at 6 pm EST and then I will randomly draw a winner.

Don't forget that tomorrow is Hip Hop Thursday so make sure that you join us in the Splitcoaststamper forum for loads of fun and giveaways.
